Koda Mochiko Specialty Food Rice Flour - 16 Oz
California grown & milled. Gluten-free. Non GMO Project verified. nongmoproject.org. A family legacy in California farming since 1928. Produced on our Family Farm in California Blue Star Mochiko Sweet Rice Flour is the longest selling brand of sweet rice flour in America being introduced in the late 1940s by the Koda family. This flour is exceptional in that we oversee all facets of its production encompassing polishing of the short grain rice, cold roll milling, and packaging. We mill our flour from pure, unadulterated sweet rice - there are absolutely no additives. Additionally, our flour is gluten-free, certified kosher by KSA, and naturally low in sodium. Blue Star Mochiko is suitable for individuals on gluten-free lifestyles as our facilities are dedicated to rice processing. While Blue Star Mochiko is traditionally popular for Japanese homemade mochi, manju, chi-chi-dango, senbei and other dishes, it is also used in Korean confections, Filipino bibingka-style confections, and certain Chinese dim sum. Blue Star Mochiko has inspired numerous other applications such as a superior, flavor neutral thickener for gravies, sauces, soups, and batter coatings. Sweet rice flour is unique among all varieties of rice flour due to its unique starch composition of abundant amylopectin. This quality makes it very viscous when activated. Koda Farms is located in the sunny San Joaquin Valley of central California. As third generation farmers and millers, we've worked our land since the 1920s and long specialized in rice products nonpareil. Also from Koda Farms: Organic sho-chiku-bai sweet rice, kokuho rose rice flour, diamond K rice flour, organic heirloom kokuho rose rice (friction polished white and whole grain natural brown). kodafarms.com.
